The market opened 1/8 of a cent higher for all deliveries as compared with Tuesday's closing quotations.

Steady conditions prevailed throughout the session due to a bet. ter demand for 'actuals" from consuming centres, particularly from New York. Also fair enquiries for futures by dealers and speculators were in evidence. However, the volume of business was restricted die to the reserved attitude of sellers.

Late in the afternoon the market became slightly quieter, closing with a quiet, but steady undertone....

A rally in the market was in evidence at the opening: Prices advanced on trade and Bombay buying. Wall Street also bought, and there was some covering by short interests. The market was on the whole very active with a strong tone prevailing throughout the day Growing opposition to the Administration's Subsidy Plan was still a factor.
