The market opened 1/4 of a cent higher for all deliveries na compared with Wednesday's closing rates.
Steady conditions prevalled throughout the day. Demand for. "actual," particularly from New York, was good, whilst traders also displayed fair buying Interest in futures. But speculators did not show much inclination to trade either way, pending clarification of the Eropean political situation.
It would appear that the better sentiment was caused by over- night cable-reports on indications of "a continuance of American absorption at the present high level for the time being. It is also assumed in well informed quarters that the permissible export-quota will remain unchanged, if the prè sent price-level will not show a
substantial increase.
An Unofficial Forecast now places the Total Malayan Rubber Exports for April at 39,500 toxis.

The market opened easy with initial prices slightly lower. Later, prices continued to move downwards" on Liverpool cables and on foreign selling. On the whole, the market was dull. However, near the close there was some buying at the lower levels, and prices were brought back at the close to almost those of the previous day.

Despite steady London advices, the market "eased off on liquida- tion. The possibility of an increase in quota may be the influence.
