Throughout the day the market ruled dull and featureless... Whilst there were some moderate enquiries for "actuals" by con- suming centres, dealers and speculators were disinclined to operate either way, preferring to await further developments in London and New York.

Towards the close of the session prices for immediate and July- September deliveries declined by 1/8 cent whilst there was no change in rates for more distant options.

American consumption figures for March were announced at 50.185 tons as against 42,365 tons for February. It is estimated that American absorption for the second quarter of this year will amount to about 130.000 tons..

The average forecast of last week's stock of rubber in London and Liverpool shows a decrease of 100 tons.

Early in the session, to-day, the market was extremely quiet, with prices slightly lower. Higher Liverpool cables, later in the morning. imparted strength to our market, and values staged a minor rally, Сол- being further aided by new buying and covering by shorts sumption prospects in the goods market are favourable. It is felt that any improvement in the European situation would have a favourable reaction on the market.
