SPARKLING TENNIS IN OPEN TOURNAMENT Minu Hits Hard And Often

Against The Rumjahns

SOME SPARKLING · TENŅI S. WAS SEEN AT THE HONG- KONG CRICKET CLUB GROUND YESTERDAY in the course of the Open tennis tournament. The best match of the day, though, nof the closest-contested, was that between H. D. and 8. A. Rumjan, laşi year's runners-up, and A. R. Minu and 1. M. ATM Razack.

The scores rather flattered 'the losers, who were lucky to re- ceive a fair mumber of "free" points from the winners. It was a hard-hitting game, the, hardest hitter of them"all being A. R. Minu. Razack started off aggressively

The Rumlahna were not fully extended throughout. Both show, ed good form, with Sirdar making his usual quota of unexpected mis- takes.

Stephen Wong and Lim Thiam- tet somewhat surprisingly dropped their first set to J, J. Ferguson and E. E Story at 5-7, but were, never- theless, never really in danger of defeat and eventually ran out win- ! ners 5-7, 6-2, 6-2.
