Comparing with closing quotations on Friday the market opened 1/2 of a cent lower for "spot" and 5/8 of a cent lower for forward deliveries.

Throughout the session the market ruled weak due to unfavour- able overnight cable-reports on the European political situation. There was an avalanche of speculative selling-orders which it was. dificult to execute due to the reserved attitude of buyers.

After a moderate volume of business having been transacted prices gradually declined by 1/4 cent for all deliveries, but ever the lower level of prices failed to attract buying to any larger extent.

The market closed with an easy undertone.
