The market opened with prices unchanged for all deliveries as compared with Friday's closing quotations.

Reflecting advices received from London and New York the mar- 'ket ruled quiet throughout the session. Only a moderate demand for "actuals" by consuming interests was in evidence, whilst dealers and speculators were disinclined to operate either way..

Toward the close of the session prices declined by 1/8 cent for all deliveries, the market closing, however, with a steadier undertone. It would appear that the market is awaiting the announcement of consumption-figures for February, which are variously estimated $8 as from 40,000 to 43,000 tons." Overnight cables from USA report- ing on a further substantial increase of Motor-car production for this week would seem to indicate a continuance of fair consump- tion-outlook.
