The market opened with prices unchanged for all deliveries as compared with Tuesday's closing rates.
Throughout the session the market ruled with a quiet, but stendy undertone In sympathy with conditions prevailing in London and "New York. Demand for "actuals" by consuming countries was fair. Whilst there were moderate enquiries by dealers, speculators were in- clined to take profits which, however, was well absorbed.
Closing tone was quietly steady.

The market opened easier on lower Liverpool cables, Later, values declined sharply on general quidation, coupled with the absence of buying, as the result of further Washington talks of pas sible Loan releases. However, there was a partial recovery towards the close, on some covering by short interests.

After a lower opening. prices rallied moderately. in sympathy with Wall Street, but the volume of trading was very restricted.
