RUMJAHN COUSINS' HARD FIGHT FOR FIRST SET
Kwok And Liang Offer Stout Resistance For 45 Minutes

FOR 45 MINUTES ON THE NO, 5 COURT AT THE HONGKONG CRICKET CLUB GROUND YESTERDAY THE RUMJAHN COUSINS, H.D. AND S.A., on 12 previous occasions holders of the Colony Open tennis... title, and last year's runners-up, battled a determined attack by F. H. Kwok and S. W. Llang, contenders from the Chinese Recreation Club, before winning the first set at 10-8 and ruling out the slim possibility of one of the biggest upsets in the history of the competition.
During most of this period the Chinese pair were definitely on the aggressive and had they clinched this set anything might have happened. Actually they lost a glorious opportunity, for at one stage they were leading 5-3 and 40-15 on their own service, but, in their own inimitable style, the Rumjahrs saved the two set points, and, though still always fighting, never looked back thereafter.
The second set, as often happens obviously the respective strong, I such games, was something of points of these players. an anti-climax, being decided in 15 minutes.
