The market opened 1/4 of a cent higher for all deliveries as compared with Friday's closing rates.

Reflecting advices received from London and New York the market ruled quiet, but steady throughout the session. Good de- mand for actuals by consuming interests induced fair enquiries for were rather futures by dealers, whilst speculators' activities restricted.

After a fair volume of business having been transacted on basis of quoted rates the market closed with a quietly steady undertone.

It was announced that total Malayan Shipments during Feb. 1939 amounted to 43,497 tons as against 43,332 tons during January $101939. Total Imports of Rubber from outside British Malaya during February 1939 "amounted to 13,889 tons as compared with 19,049 tons in January 1939.
