Early in the session the market ruled steady in sympathy with advices received from London and New York, Demand for "spot" Rubber as well as for futures was active due to the general belief that higher Rubber prices will be assured, if the political outlook continues to improve.

Later in the day, however, prices registered a slight setback of 1/8 cent for all deliveries due to profit-taking. the market closing with a quiet, but steady undertone.

Market firm on Continental and trade inquiry and New York demand for C.LF.

NEW YORK COTTON

The market opened firm on higher Liverpool "cables, with the

firmness, however. trade and foreign interests buying. The short-lived and prices soon drifted downward. This was caused by selling pressure on a reactionary theory. The market, however, closed at above the low levels for the day. An extension of the re- cent gatis is considered likely.

NEW YORK RUBBER

Prices opened higher on a firm London market and were further aided by speculative demand. Later, interest slackened and some profit-taking caused prices to react slightly at the close. The un- dertone of the market, however, was steady.

"CHICAGO WHEAT

After a somewhat quiet opening, the market turned firm in sympathy with foreign advices. There was some fairly active profit- $1.40 taking, but sentiment continues generally bearish.
