HIS EXCELLENCY, THE GOVERNOR, Sir Geoffry Northcote, " opened an exhibition of Chinese jade at the Fang Ping-shan Library yesterday evening! His Excellency, who was accompanied by Lady Northcote and their son, Mr. M. A. S. Northcote, was - welcomed by Mr. D. J. Sloss and Prof. Hsu Ti-shan, and among those present were the Hon. Mr. and Mrs, N. L. Smith, the Hon. Mr. C. G. Alabaster, Prof. L. Forster and many others.

The 70 groups of exhibits, num- bering nearly 800 articles, were arranged in two rooms, and in- cluded jade objects and imple-
