as having operated both ways, India bought. The market was quietly steady but idle. American Silver was quoted at 42 3/4 for Spot...

The London/New York cross- rate was quoted at 488.85. New York/London was quoted at 468. 11/18.

A very quiet market, probably influenced by the fact of a ball- day to-morrow. There was some scattered liquidation, but this was absorbed by foreign buying. Wall Street supported the market to- wards the close. Trading was moderately active in the afternoon.

NEW YORK RUBBER

Higher London cables and steadier securities alded this market. Manufacturers bought. After the initial rise. trading became dull and prices moved within a narrow range.

CHICAGO WHEAT

The market was quietly steady. Unfavourable weather reports and the firmness of the corn market helped prices to stage a minor Fally.

A method of producing synthetic wool from the waste of domestic animal hoofd, has been discovered by a Polish chemist of Lodz, Mr. Jan Kubickt, after, six years of research He has named the new substance "Welnolls”!

Mr. Jan Kubicki has waforded in producing fibres resembling those of jute and cotton from pine needles.
