SHANGHAI, Feb. 6 (Reuter, Central and T/Ocean) the Japanese- -Chien Hwa, Chinese Adviser to controlled Press Censorship Bureau, was shot by a gunman at 10.15 o'clock this morning in Yu Ya Ching Road, near the Race Course, in the heart of the International Settlement. He died in hospital at 12.33 p.m.
The assailant, who is believed to be a member of the so-called "traitor extermination corps fired three shots at the victim who was wounded in the head, hand and abdomen, and then escaped.
A graduate of Yenching University, Peiping, Chien Hwa was considered to be one of the most prominent Chinese journalists in Shanghai,
