LONDON, FEBRUARY 3 (T/OCEAN)—BOMB EX- PLOSIONS OCCURRED IN TWO OF THE BUSIEST- STATIONS. RAILWAY LONDON UNDERGROUND namely, Leicester Square and Tottenham Court Road this morning as a result of which eight persons were Injured, three of them seriously. Fortunately the ex- plosions took place just before the rush hours began. a fact which explains the relatively small number of victims.

In Leicester Square station a bomb, with a time- fuse attached, exploded in a handbag which had been deposited in the cloakroom causing extensive damage. Part of the masonry was torn from the walls and flung on to the steps leading to the entrance door of the station. The force of the explosion was such that windows of shops facing the station were smashed.
