MRS. M. SANGER ALARMED
Favours Subsidies To Those Who Desire
Children
Mrs. Margaret Sanger, ploneer birth control advocate in America, voiced her concern over the low birth rate among "healthy and intelligent couples" and advocated private subsidies to those in this group who cannot afford to bring up family as a means of "promot- ing the national welfare."
Recently returned from a speak- ing tour in the South, Mrs. Sanger advanced the suggestion at an interview in the Hotel Barclay in which she also proposed Federal pensions for the feebib-minded and others with hareditary and trans- missible diseases who would agree to sterlization.
She also repeated her bellet that birth control information should be provided through health agencies supported by.. public funds.
