The most traditionally feminine of the craft hobbies is surely needlework. While men have distinguished themselves in every other branch of domestic craftsmanship, the eminent embroiderers of his.... tory have generally been women. Needlework is a craft whose great- est exponents were the baronial ladies of the Middle Ages, and its appeal to-day is still to a relatively lelsured class.
