The market opened 1/8 of a cent higher for all deliveries as compared with Tuesday's closing quotations.

Early in the morning the market displayed a steady undertone que to fair demand for "spot" Rubber 'by consuming countries." Des- pite some buying Interest in futures for trade-accounts, speculators preferred to hold alcor for the time being, awaiting clarificatioer of present uncertainties with regard to the trend of the cross-rate Lon- don-New York.

Subsequently the market turned very quiet, closing with a dull

undertone.

Total shipments of Rubber from Malaya during December amount- ed to 32,901 tons as compared with 39,340 tons for November and 42. 294 tons for October respectively.
