GODS OF WEALTH

In all, there are five Gods

This occurs on the 4th day of the 1st moon, so that shops, opened on the 5th day, will be prosperous. They welcome them as guests by preparing a great dinner and by firing fire-crac- kers. On the last and the 15th of the month, they burn In- cense to them.

CULINARY GODS

The Kitchen God is made of paper and he is placed on the shelf of the oven. The story is that he had been 1-treated by As his brother and sister-in-law. they were very rich, they had the brother many servants, but who was eventually to become the Kitchen God was allowed to have dinner with the servants, and to work with the servants. It is also believed that he will give a full report of how he had been treated by the family during the year. The ascension of the god occurs on the 24th day of the 12th moon, and is welcomed by different familles in the 15th day of the 1st moon. On that day, people have New Year cakes, noodles, and "wing dung" ( the shape of an Ingot inside of which is meat.)

A TROUSERLESS GOD "Dee Sheong Pu Sah" is regard- cd as a household god in some have places. He is believed to done many kind deeds, when he was on earth.
