Blackpool Fire Brigade has just rdered a specially equipped com- bed fire engine and turntable es- cape from Leyland Motors. It will have a 120 ft all-steel turntable escape, 500 g.p.m. pump and a special e-saving cage--an in. novation as regards Great Britain. The cage, capable of holding two persons, is slung on the underside
the escape and can be raised or Icwered, whatever the elevation or extension of the escape, by an in- dependent winding gear operated
