The case was a sequel to the sensational attempted hold-up of a pay van belonging to the Hongkong Mines Ltd., which was carry- Ing $9,000 in wages for their employees, by four armed men on the Talpe Road on October 22, when an Indian guard and one of the alleged would-be robbers were wounded.

One of the men escaped, and of the three charged Tsui Hon-chau pleaded gulity. To try the other two the following jury was em- pänelled :--Messrs. R W. Lamont (foreman), A. A. Noronha, Paul Lee Kau, A. J. Burnie, C. M. Agon, R. E. Lee and D. F. Kilby.
