HANDICAP

Mr. Victor Needa rode Lucky Lad in grand style to win the classic for Australian ponies. Courting Eve. with Mr. H. C. Pit up, was greatly fancled but failed to place.

Lancashire Chips was in the lead for the greater part of the race but Lucky Lad had too strong a finish and easily overtook him. Courting Eve looked promising but faded out of the picture after passing the distance post.

DILATORY HANDICAP Mr. A. W. Raymond. on Double Chance. won the Dilatory Handicap by a head for Plain, View (Mr. H. C. Pih) and Flybynight (Mr. S. C. Liang).

Tiny Star led the field till the Rock but thereafter, figured amongst the tall-enders. Plain View challenged strongly from the Distance Post onwards but Double Chance was too good,

HONGKONG SUB-GRIFFINS AUTUMN CHAMPIONS Salvage Master, ridden by Mr. B. I L. Tuu, scored a very popular win in the classic event for sub-griffins, Piet Hein (Mr. H. C. P) placing second and National Guard (Mr. A. W. Raymond) third.

Mr. Tao nursed his mount very carefully and did not attempt to take the lead until the field came round the bend for the second time, into the home stretch.
