But there is something that the Songsters have which some of the leading choirs of this Colony lack and that is to "keep the odd syc on the conductor." It" was markable to note the way each and every singer kept both eyes on him: Every lead was

anti- cipated and every indication given was taken notice of and executed. The score held in front of each singer was only glanced at once, at the "beginning; as soon as the baton came down all eyes were on the conductor and there they re- mained to the end of the number. Now that is something... n'est-ce pas?

The Philharmonic Society held one of their last rehearsals of "Ruddigore"

the Queen's Theatre on Saturday night. It was a great pleasure for the Bo- clety .to welcome back Mrs. Mathieson and Mr. Piercey to their ranks. The former is filling a good part well, both as regards singing and acting, while the lat- ter has very kindly taken over the part of Adam Goodheart at short notice.

Newcomers to local productions are Mr. Nobbins and Miss Grieg. who give a very good account of themselves, while Miss Winch, who is playing her first leading role for the Society, strigs and acts charm- ingly.

The Rev. Cyril Brown must be given credit not only for being res- ponsible for a decorative and smooth production but also. for. playing the Barrington part with considerable verve. We hope the production will receive the public support that it so well deserves.
