The market opened 1/8 of a cent biger for all deliveries as com- pared with Friday's closing quotations.

Throughout the session the market ruled steady, thus responding to improved conditions prevailing in London and New York. Good equires for "spot" Rubber Influenced fair buying interest in futures by dealers and speculators Reports from U.S.A. on continued satis- factory progress in Motorcar-production coupled with estimates of in- creased Rubber-consumption for November-December were bullish factors. However, the unsettled situation with regard to Sterling is still exercising a restraining influence upon, the market.

Closing tone was quiet

The average forecast of last week's stocks of rubber in London and in Liverpool shows a decrease of 1,400 tons.

Favourable Liverpool advices influenced a higher opening in the, Cotton market to-day, which later, was further strengthened by local and Bombay buying. Finally, the market closed steady.

The market riled steady but relatively idle, owing to lack of in- centives and support. Prices were narrow and trading was somewhat uninteresting.

The market was depressed early in the session by lower cables, Iquidation, unfavourable weather reports, poor milling demand and an easier corn market.
