Brilliant play by Elliott enabled the Navy to defeat Club 1st XV in their Triangular Tournament Rugby football match at CauseWKY Bay on Saturday. The Naval side were lucky to emerre winners by a single point over the Civillaus, the final score.being 14 points to 13.

Lieut. Elliott of H. M. 8. Eagle showed rare form scoring three tries and one convertion kick, while Hunt, the Navy footballer, put up a fine display at back. Thatcher and Manners gave much support in the scrum.

On the Club side Grieve and Stewart were outstanding in the three-quarter line, with Cessford lending useful help. MacGrath ut back gave a good show in the second period, letting the Beamen pass him only on one occasion.

POSSESSION OF DAGGER

Made For Self- Protection

Appearing before Mr. E. Hima- worth at the Kowloon Court on Saturday on a charge of unlaw- ful possession of a dagger, Yuen Chiq-ping, aged 19, was sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment.

Detective-Inspector A E. Carey said about 2 am, on December 5 a Chinese constable saw two-per- sons in the market near. Taku Street. The constable approached them and arrested defendant, the other having escaped. On being searched, defendant was found to have a dagger hidden in his girdle.

When questioned by police, de-. tendant said that he had been hir- ed by the man for $30 to stab some, one.

In Court Yuen said that he had been threatened by three persons and he made the dagger for self- protection.
