China's relationship with Soviet Russia, involving the rise or fall of Soviet prestige among the masses of the Chinese people, has been narrowly watched by the world to-day. As the intensity of Soviet sympathies, entertained by the Chinese in Hongkong, has a close bearing upon their attitude towards the British Government under whose protection they live, it is interesting to observe what ten- dencies are prevalent at the moment and in which manner they ex- press themselves.
