The market opened with prices unchanged for all deliveries as compared with Saturday's closing rates.

The market ruled quiet and dull, thus responding to conditions prevailing in London and New York.

Demand for "spot" Rubber was moderate, whilst activity for trade and speculative accounts, was at a low ebb.

Later in the session, the market turned steady on some trade- buying of "spot" Rubber as well as of forward positions, which caused prices to advance by 1/8 cent for all deliveries on a thin market.

Closing tone was quiet but steady.

It would appear that continued uncertainty with regard to the. future trend of the cross-rate" London-New York coupled with re- ports on unfavourable European political developments is a disturb- ing factor at the moment. However, the statistical position of Rub ber continues to be very healthy. Unofficially consumption In USA. for November is estimated at 43.000 tons, which, if realized, would compare favourably with 40.000 tons for October 1938 and 34.000 tons for November 1937 respectively.

NEW YORK COTTON

The market, on the whole, was quiet, with prices moving with- in a narrow range. Early in the session, values declined on selling pressure, which was influenced by foreign advices. Later in the day, prices rallied on "spot" houses buying and demand from the Trade. Contracts were scarce after the initial foreign selling. The market maintained a steady tone at the close.

NEW YORK RUBBER

Interest in the market to-day was very alight. There was some factory demand and this was met by liquidation. Prices opened lower and drifted downwards, but a somewhat steady tone prevailed at the close.
