Popular Couple Married

The wedding of two popular young members of the Colony's social set took place yesterday afternoon at St. John's Cathe- dral when Miss Mary Margaret McCaw was joined in marriage. to Mr. Daniel Godfrey Wilson. The Dean, Very Rev. J. L. Wil- sork, officiated.

Miss McCaw, daughter of Capt. and Mrs. J. B. McCaw, was given away by Mr. S. S. Harris and was attended by her two sisters, Misses Muriel and Dorothy McCaw.

The bride was simply, but beau- tifully, attired in a gown of white suk net with satin thread brocade, designed on princess lines. A shoulder length, white silk tulle vell was secured to her head by a halo of orange blossoms.

Forming a harmonious back- ground for their stater, the Misses Muriel and Dorothy McCaw were attired in light blue net frocks of floor length. worn over the same; colour taffeta slips. Small skull caps of taffeta and net, which the two blonde bridesmaids' wore on their heads, lent A very smart touch

The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Wilsofi, was attended by Mr.S. A. Tremlett as best man."

A reception was held in the Gloucester Hotel after which the happy couple left for their honey moon which is being spent at Repulse Bay.

Hongkong's assumption of an emphatic role in the Sino-Japan-

ese war has placed it in focus of world attention and made of it the subject of international press cominent. The main point at issue at present is whether, and to what an extent, it will retain Its newly-acquired significance with the concentration of war activities in the South.

It is interesting in this connection to follow the two main trends of public opinion as expressed in the press to-day: While a pessimistic outlook seems to be prevalent among observers from outside. Far Eastern commentators are likely to adopt a brighter view and Invest Hongkong with theery prospects for the future.
