evidence.

Mr. Frank Milton, appearing for Miss Marie Louise Morrison, 28, of Nelson-road, Hornsey, N., who ap- peiled against the dismissal of an application for a paternity order at Highgate on June 15, and, that a decision on the fallibility or in- fallibility of blood tests had not yet been given.

"There has been a good deal of controversy as to its. tficiency," he said, "and the souner its value is thrashed out by a superior court the better."

of

61dacy Dunsmore-road. Stamford Hill, N.,

Baron. manager

denied that he was the father of a male child born to Miss Morrison in February.

Evidence had been given at the police court that a blood test showed that. Baron belonged to group "N," while the mother and baby were both group "M"

20,000 TESTS"THIS YEAR D." Thomas said that Baron could not be the father of Miss Morrison's child. The odds against It were 150,000 to one.

Replying to Mr. Milton, Dr.. Thomas said that blood, tests were now in this country. Even with considerable expe_ience and care false results might unwittingly be obtained, as there was always the possibility of an error being made In getting the groups right.

So far as he knew, there were only four other doctors besides himself who had made an "inten- sive study of the tests. During this year he had taken 1,000 blood group tests, Involving 20,000 in-

vidual tests.

Cross-examined by Mr. Milton, Baton admitted intimacy on two occasions before February, 1937.

"An application asking that blood tests should be taken by another doctor was refused, and the appeal was dismissed.

CO-STARRING TEAM

A new co-starring team makes its screen debut at the Queen's Theatre to-day in a new comedy called "Women are like That"

Curiously, although

been

they have

at the same. "studio for. several years, the lovely, dark Kay Francis and the genial. rapid-talking Irishman. Pat O'Brien, have never worked 1 a picture together...

"Women Are Like That" is a comedy revo'ving around the colourful and exciting advertising business. In the cast are rich notables as Ra'ph. Forbes. Mel- ville Cooper, Thurston Ha'l. Grant Mitchell and Herbert Rawlinson.

A WRONG 'UN

Herr Hitler may be a "water- colourist of great delicacy aud an architectural designer of merit" (vide the German art review quoted, but he certainly hasn't taken an adult course in natura history. If he had he might have chosen a better example than the hedgehog, of which he said TC: cently:

The hedgehog has never attack- ed another animal. but if he is threatened.......

THE GAMEKEEPER'S PET Next time Herr Etler is in the country he should have a ta'k with a gamekeeper. He will ther discover that the hedgehog, apart. from its notorious king for eggs. also attacks game-chicks - and snakes.

ON EXAMINATION WE FIND--- Come to think of it, however..

if we examine that ist we find that apart from the spikes there is nothing in the least likely to threaten the hedgehog. So there's a point in the comparison with Germany after all-but not the one Herr Hitler meant.
