CHINESE TIN SHIPMENTS FALL
Shipments of tin from China
have been seriously dislocated dur- ing the past two months. Only 650 tens- a month, has been averaged, which is 300 tons below normal,
There will probably be a complete stoppage of Chinese tin deliveries thrauchout the world if Japan gains control of all the mines in southern China.

On the other hand, a much
larger amount of Straits in will be available, because Japan would not need to purchase from that source to any great extent.
At present Japan is going west for large quantities of Straits tin, partly because her present engage- ment means that heavy extra ́sup- needed and partly biles are because she is unable to obtain the |- usual shipments of Chinese, tin.
During October. for instance, shipments of Biraits tim to Japan were 1540 tona which compares with an average of 625 tons during the first six months of this year and a still lower figure before the outbreak of hostilities.
