- SHANGHAI DOLLARS Business was done at various rates from 184 to 180. A fairly extensive business WES done. Speculators bought heavily.

SHANGHAI MARKET Early advices indicated the mar ket as being uncertain with sellers at Bd cash and 7. 61/64 October. Subsequent advices indicated the market as steadier with sellers at 8. 1/8 and later 8. 3/16. Towards the close, however, the market U.S. again eased off to 8. 1/18. Dollars, early advices reported sellers at 15. 27/32 and later 16. 7/32 Towards the close the tone was easier and the selling rate receded to 16, 1/16.

THE AFTERNOON

"The market was not so robust Columbia 6% "A" pf. 76.* in the afternoon..

There were sellers at 1/2 .29/32 Cash and 1/2 7/8 November /De- cember, buyers at 1/2" 15/16 Cash and 1/2 29/32 November Decem- ber.
