The market opened 3/8 of a cent lower for all deliveries as com pared with Wednesday's closing rates..
in sympathy with easter advices from London and New York the market ruled dull and very quiet early in the morning. Demand for "actuals" was moderate whilst dealers and speculators preferred to maintain side-line positions.
Later in the session the market encountered easiness on some speculative selling and profit-taking. which, coming on a narrow market. caused prices to decline by a further 1/8 vent for all de- liveries.

Overnight-cables from New York reporting on lack of support by manufacturers caused further speculative selling, and due to the reluctance of buyers, business was passing at as low as 20 cents for January-March and at correspondingly higher rates for mere distant deliveries
Closing tone was very dull.
In authoritative Rubber circles in Loudon the opinion prevails that higher prices may be looked for with improving consumption and a better statistical outlook during the coming months. But it is also believed that more or less sharp reactions may be encoun- tered from time to time, which would provide suitable occasions for making purchases,
