The market opened with prices unchanged for all deliveries as com- pared with Saturday's closing quotations.

Steady conditions prevalling on the Rabber Exchange in New York were responsible for the market displaying a Arm undertone after the opening. Good enquiries for "spot". Rubber were in evidence, whilst dealers and speculators exhibited fair buying interests in future posi- tions.

Subsequently, however, the market become very quiet whilst prices declined 1/8 cent for all deliveries on proät-taking and some specula - tive selling.

Closing tone was very dull

Whilst in well informed Rubber circles in New York the opinion prevails that buying would be indicated only or recessions, Rubber brokers in Singapore belleve that. the trend of the market will bà slowly upwards due to the fact that spot" Rubber is scarce and that the market is in a healthy condition, speculators having mostly liquidated their positions.
