(BY ROBIN)

The Arst round of the Goy- ernor's Cup series was played at Causeway Bay yesterday afternoon when the Hongkong Amateur Athletic Chinese Federation defeated the Hong- kong Football Association by four goals to one after, the the Association had lead 1-0 at half time.

In the first half the general run of play was decidedly even and was generally confined to midfield play. Watson was seen in rare farm. his tackling and passes being practically faultless. The Associa- tion forwards, with the exception of the two wings, did not take advantage of their opportunities. Instead they tried to dribble the ball into the net.

In the second period, the Naval side had only fourteen players which gave the Club opportunities of bringing the ball within the five yard line. Oliphant received a pass from Dunnett and placed the ball over the line for the second try, which was not con- verted.

A fine movement in the three- quarter line ended with Lammert scoring.
