MARSHAL BLUECHER DEAD OR

Military Leader's Name Not Mentioned For Several Weeks

SENSATIONAL SUICIDE

REPORT FROM TOKYO

Tokyo, October 6.

Japanese News Agency message. which Reuter gives with all due reserve, states that according to unconfirmable information "reaching certain quarters in Tukyo," Marshal Vassily Bluecher. Commander-in-Chief of the Soviet Far Eastern Army, committed suicide in Moscow yesterday.

Nothing is known in Muscow of the Tokyo report which is regard ed as probably inaccurate. The name of the Marshal has not been mentioned for several weeks in connection with Red Army conter- ences in the Far East.—Reater.

Transocean says that the semi-official Japanese News.. Agency's report is not confirmed from any other source."

A Reuter report from tokyo states that Marshal Bluecher, ap- parently. is still allye as his portrait has not yet been removed from the Far Eastern Soviet Governmental offices nor from the gallery in Moscow, according to reliable in- formation.

However, he certainly has fallen into disfavour with Comrade Stalin who is blaming him in connection with the Changkufeng incident, the same advices say.

The same information polats out that the name of Marshal Blue her recently has been conspicuous for. Its disappearance from Soviet i

newspapers and has also been ex- eluded from the list of honorary members of the Communist Party Congress. Reuter:
