Influenced by reassuring news on the political situation in Europe the market, after the opening, ruled firm at 25 cents buyers for January-March options and at correspondingly higher rates for more distant deliverles It was rather difficult to transact business on the basis of quoted rates due to scarcity of sellers.
Later in the day the market turned somewhat erratic and after Auctuating within a price-range of 3/8 of a cent closed at 254 cents for' January-March with a quiet, but steady undertone.

Market quietly steady, awaiting further developments.
NEW YORK COTTON
The market early advanced on the better political situation and firmness on Wall Street. General buying also aided the market. Later, however, prices reacted na lower Liverpool cables and on proft- taking, especially in near positions. Then, values again hardened on covering by shorts and switching to later months. The market closed fairly steady, but prices were below their best!
NEW YORK RUBBER
After an irregular opening, the market steadied with increasing optinism regarding the meeting of the "Big Four" at Munich: mand found offerings light and values continued to advance.
CHICAGO WHEAT
De-
Prospects of an amicable solution to the European controversy and the easiness of the Liverpool and Winnipeg markets'inspired mo- derate selling. At the same time, there are indications that liquida- tion has been completed, but support from professional traders is lacking, pending news from Munich. Export demand is disappointing.

YESTERDAY'S OFFICIAL QUOTATIONS
SELLERS
During most of the week the market was overshadowed" by the critical slate of affairs in Europe, but the news received to the Colony early this morning that the four Great Powers had arrived at a solution of the crisis gave great stimulus to the opening quotations. "Buyers displayed eagerness to ob- tain shares, though their ideas of prices did not at first tempt, many sellers. As the day. wore on en- quirers raised their bids, resulting in a
fair turnover at advancing rates. The closing tone, firm" with an upward tendency.
