Japanese commodities have lost much of their foothold in the Dutch East Indies, as Dotch products are gaining momentum there, according to information received from Batávik.
During the first half of this year, imports of Japanese goods to the Dutch East Indies decreased by 52 per cent, compared with the same period last year, to 30,430,000 guilders, while imports from Hol- land increased by 43 per cent to 1,680,000 guilders.
