The market opened with prices unchanged for all deliveries as compared with Wednesday's closing rates.
Early in the morning the market ruled quiet. There were fair overnight-orders for prompt deliveries from London and New York. but little interest was displayed by trade and speculative intersts, operators preferring to swalt further developments before entering into fresh engagements on a larger scale.
Subsequently however, prices gradually declined by 1/4 cent for all deliveries on profit-taking and selling, mainly for speculative accounts, induced by the continuance of the grave political crisis in Europe. Only a moderate volume of business on the basis of quoted rates was transacted due to the reserved attitude of buyers.
Closing tone was quiet.. -
It is reported that Akron interests in U.S.A. are believed t have made considerable purchases of distant deliveries. It is aBO anticipated that consumption figures for September will come up to expectations and failing any disturbing external influences higher prices during the ensuing months may be confidently looked for

NEW YORK COTTON
Prices early declined on moderate liquidation, but later ral- lled partially on steady Liverpool advices, a firmer stocks market and on foreign and local buying. Operators then became some what hesitant and prices again drifted downwards on "renewed liquidation, hedge-selling and proat-taking, with the market finally closing steady at the lower levels.
NEW YORK RUBBER
After opening lower on lower advices from the primary mar- kets, there was a partial rally or reports of an advance on the London market. but prices again gradually eased on, profit-taking, scattered liquidation and freer offerings. In the latter part of the session business mplily consisted of switching of positions.
