Who Should Lead The Winners For To-morrow
Hongkong?
(To The Editor, The Hong Kong
Daily Press)
Str. Mine is only a small voters, crying out in the wilderness but I trust you will be good enough to give this letter the publicity it deserves, and let my cry be at least heard.
I read from all the papers about the forthcoming cricket Interpot. against Shanghai. More than that.i
I have come across the names of
two or three people, mentioned as ; the likely one to be chosen as cap. tain.
Can you
tell
me please it
the captain of A Hongkong team must be a member of the Hong Kong Cricket Club? Nu why?
I grant it the invitation from Shanghai is always 'addressed to the HK.C.C. but it they are going to make it such an exclusive sort of match, why not call the team. "HK.C.C. and friends?"
In all other branches of spårt the controlling bocles concerned chose the teams and the captains. Why can't the selection of the Hongkong Cricket teain be left to the Hongkong Cricket League?
I bring this up because in my humble opinion the best captain La Hongkong to-day is Donald, Anderson, but he belongs to the K.C.C. and is therefore. ineligible ໄດ້ lead a Hongkong Interpart ricket team.-Yours etc.
Note:
"Not Cricket"
The Interport, serfes really started with the Shanghai Cricket Club playing the Hongkong Cricket Club but as interest in the game
the H.X.C.C. grew. extended the courtesy to take part in these games to the other clubs. "in Hongkong. The avitation" is always addressed to the H.K.C.C. and as long as the procedure re- moins unchanged, the Club must: have the privilege to choose thei captain Sports Ed].
