The market opened 1/4 of a cent higher for all forward deliveries as compared with Wednesday's closing rates.

Very quiet conditions prévilled throughout the session. Demand for "spot" Rubber was fair, but this fact did not induce dealers and speculators to operate on a larger scale. The market, at the moment, appears to be overshadowed mainly by the fixation of the permissible. export-quota for the last quarter of this year by the IR.R. Committee on the 12th inst. as well as by the continuance, of the political tension in Europe. Until these uncertalātles are removed. It is difficult to visualize a substantial advance in prices."

Only a moderate volume of business was transacted ch the basis of quoted rates, the market closing with a quiet undertone.
