The market ruled quiet during the session. Demand for "spot" Rubber was falf, whist operators were rather reluctant to en- ter into fresh engagements, preferring to await further developments, although overnight cables conveyed reports of ateadler Security-mar- kets, particularly in U.8.A.

The political situation in Europe still exercises a dominating in- fluence on the market, and until a settlement of the difficult Sudeten problem is attained, a continuation of the upward trend of the market would appear to be precluded. However, statistically Rubber remains very healthy and sound.

After business having been transacted at about 28-3/8 cents for "January-March and at correspondingly higher rates for more distant

positions, the market closed with a quiet undertone.

After ruling steady, the market eased slightly in the absence of demand.

Traders were inclined to limit operations over the week-end and were generally awaiting developments abroad. Prices early in the day declined on lower Liverpool cables and stock market, but later re- covered on Liverpool and Bombay buying, which readily absorbed liquidation. Finally, the market closed steady.
