Prague, August 24. That the negotiations in progress between Lord Runciman. the Czechoslovakian Government and the Sudeten German Party will reach a decisive stage within the next few days is the view express- ed by political circles here yesterday night.

It is even intimated that the formation of a new Cabinet is ron- sidered in order that the influence of President Benes might be more direct and that new reforms could be formulated which would per- mit of a rapid solution of the Nationalities problem without endless negotiations.

The assumption that important} decisions are to be expected is sub- stantiated by the fact that the leader of the Sudeten German de-i legation. Deputy Ernst Kundt, has cancelled his proposed trip to Stockholm for the Nationalities Congress.

Lord Runelman visited President Benes yesterday, and although a that communique merely states the visit took place it is belleved that Lord Runciman discussed the Impression he has gained as the result of conferences during the past few days.

Lord Runciman and his staff also conferred with, the special committee of six from the Govern- ment coalition parties, M. Heidrich. the Foreign Minister, also particl- pating. M. Heidrich is a close col- laborator of President Benes, and often accompanied him to.. Geneva as expert on the minorities ques- tions. (Trarsocean).

A Japanese newspaper re- port that France has secured a long-term lease of Hainan Island, was denied by the Foreign Office yesterday.
