The trade of the "Colonial Empire increased by £40,090, 000 in 1936," reports the latest Government survey, inued on August 9.

Exports rose by £20,000,000 to £259,000,000, and imports by £20. 000,000 to £247,000,000—a favoura ble balance of £12,000,000.
