A River "Coach”
י.
A new river passenger ser- vice on the Thames, between Westminster and Southend-on- Sea, has been inaugurated by the "Pride of Westminster," un oll-engined vessel designed to accommodate 100 passen- gers. Behind this service is Mr. H. A. Harvey, a former well known English motor coach aperator.
Built to the designs of Mr. Fredk. Shepherd. M.IN.A., "Pride of Westminster" is powered by pair of A.E.C. 6-cylinder marine oil engines, each developing 100 b.h.p. at 1850 r.p.m. The length of the vessel, which has an attractive mo- dern appearance, is 70ft. and her breadth 18ft.
A GOOD SEA BOAT When the vessel left Coves, where she was built, for the Thames and Westminster, she encountered a fresh N.E. wind and high swell in the Channel However, she showed herself at once to be an excellent boat in a seaway, and throughout 20 hours of continuous running it was not necessary to touch the
engines.
