SOLDIER FINED
Pte. J. Williams of the Middlesex Regiment was fined $10 and order- ed to pay $15.45 amends to a taxi-cab company when he appear- ed at the Kowloon Court before Mr. Macfadyen on Saturday on a charge of assaulting a taxi-cab driver when the driver had accused him of breaking the glass window panes of the taxi.
It appears that Pte. Williams had boarded a taxi, directing the driver to, proceed to the Sham Shui Po camp. At Waterloo Road the door of the taxi-cab opened and Pte. Williams wished to alight. The driver noticed that the window- pane was broken. He demanded that Pte. Williams pay for the broken window-pane. The driver alleges that Pte. Willams had re- fused to pay and also that Pte. Williams assaulted him.
AND STILL
GOING STRONG! Among the numerous hawkers charged at the Kowloon Court on Saturday with “bawking with- out license", was Liu Fung.
