MOTOR-CYCLE TRIALS Since motor-cycle reliability trials and competitions are now part of military training, the Nor- thern Command held a reliability trial at Reeth (about nine miles west of Catterick Camp) on July 19. The winning team will compere in the Army Trial in October, or November for a challenge trophy which is to be presented by the Imperial General Stan.
The course for the Northern Command trial consisted of two laps of a figure of eight circuit over roads, tracks, "test hills, and water splashes. Some 15 Regular Army teams took part, each con- sisting of one officer; and three" other ranks. All ranks of the. Territorial Army and civilians (particularly members of motor- cycle clubs) were spectators, and marshals at Reeth village green gave particulars of the course. It la hoped next year to extend these motor-cycle trials to units of the Territorial Army. ⠀
