Seven members of the Kenkokukat, än ultra-nationalistic or- ranisation. called on the Soviet Embassy today and requested 'an interview with the Charge d'Affaires,
The Kenkokukài members said that they wanted to protest against the Soviet's alleged violation of the Manchakso frontier.
The request was refused whereupon the seven men threw some handbills into the Embassy offices and tried to stage a sit-down strike outside. All the men were arrested and takeh to the police station and reprimanded after which they were" released with the waming not to repeat the offence.

A
IN ONE OF THE MOST EXTENSIVE air raids' witnessed here, twenty-seven Japanese bombers, escorted by pursuits, carried out three separate raids on Hankow. Wachang and Kanyang at 8.30 a.m. today.
Six bombers first dropped scores of bombs on Hanyang where a huge fire was started. Shortly afterwards eighteen others, in two- separate flights, made for the Hankow aerodrome which they began to bomb.
THREE OF THE BOMBS FELL WIDE of the aerodrome but one scored a direct hit, and set on Are a, Chinese theatre which was used as an air raid shelter where five hundred persons were taking refuge.
