Fierce Resistance
An account of conditions in North China since the Japanese. attack was given at a Manchester Reform Club luncheon recently by Dr. Robert McClure, an American worker for the International Red Cross, who spoke with the authority of personal experience. Dr. McClure delighted optimists by prophesying victory for the Chinese. The basis of this hopeful view was, he said, the work of the Chinese guerilla fighters. Guerilla tactics had been adopted in China, and there was no military authority in China today who did not realise that. It was important to realise this if they were to, interpret the news from China correctly.
