The millionaire film producer and airman, Howard Hughes, arrived in New York at 2.36 p.m. yesterday, completing a world flight which took a total time of three days, 19 hours and 16 minutes. thus reducing Wiley Post's globe-giriling record of seven days, 18 hours and 49 minutes.

The approximate total distance flown was 16,886 miles. According to one estimate the average- speed was 161 miles per hour, compared with Wiley Post's 83 miles.
