PARIS PEACE MEETING

41

(FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT)-

Canton, July 15.

In answer to the Japanese olsim that only military objectives were bombed in Canton, the Canton Committes for Justice to China, com- posed of leading foreign' nationals here, have forwarded facts and figures to the International Peace. Campaign in Parls showing that the bombed buildings were schools, hospitals and guola,

All the documents were ́sent by. Imperial Airways to the Paris meeting, to be held in the French capital between July 17 and 19. A map of Canton showing that the bombed areas are not confined to government, buildings was included in the dispatch.

The Canton branch of the Anti-} Aggression League. under the direction of Mr. Chung Tien-hain, has also sent u 900-foot film to the International Pesce Campaign showing the bombed districts, in- cluding the British St. Hilda Girls' School, the French, Doumer Hos- pital, the American-owned Lingnun University, and the New Zealand Missionary Hospital,

A pre-view of this film was re- cently given here to leading Chi- hese and foreign residents and newspapermen. Scenes showing | rows of dead bodies, including those of healthy looking children and nursing mothers, made a deep Impression on the audience.

It is not expected that this pub- Heity will prevent further Japanese bombings of Canton but the un- derlying Idea is to tell the world. that Japanese methods are to de- liberately terrorise the people.
