League Matches Washed Out

By B. R. Swiller

Although the sky was overcast and rain fell intermittently OR Saturday forenoon it was felt that it would be possible to carry out the Lawn Bowls League programme. But the heavy downpour which occurred at about 4 p.m. caused all matches to be abandoned, in many cases after the fifth head had been played..

Recreio, in their match against the Kowloon Bowling Green Club' af Austin Road, had run away with a substantial lead of 19 shots to 8 on the sixth head when rain interrupted play. At Happy Valley, bowlers on the Police as well as the Civil Service, greens made sev ecal abortive attempts to resume thele interrupted matches, but they had to give it up when the rain came in earnest.

Three of the four matches "ar-green on Tuesday proved most in- ringed for Sunday in the quarter- teresting. Some very good head. anal of the Open: Rinks Cham-were seen
